WAIP'S LEGENDS SHOWCASE FEATURING THE BOOK OF RUTH AND MASTER DRUMMER ERIC FRAZIER

The Book of Ruth

is an ensemble whose founding members are mostly indigenous men and women who descend from the first nations of Turtle Island (USA). The group's blend of cultural, jazz, gospel, r&b, club, house and neo soul music has helped to cultivate its unique and authentic voice.  Music preservationists and advocates for indigenous rights and the protection of Mother Earth and Water, the Book of Ruth's mission and vision is to deliver engaging performances that promote awareness about the social and economic disparities in indigenous communities around the world. The group's message also urges patrons to always practice self-care and self-love as the first steps in overcoming their obstacles and truly loving and caring for others.

When asked to describe the Book of Ruth, founding member Sadanyah Flowing Water stated,  "The Book of Ruth's journey is not a religious one. Instead, it is a cultural, holistic, and conscious approach to facilitating diversity, inclusion and community building. We are grateful for all of the support  we have received over the years. Our concerts have always been well attended, and our music valued. We are not just entertainers, but oral traditionalists with a unique perspective and story to tell."  Book of Ruth concerts and live performances are produced by the World Alliance of Indigenous Peoples. Founding members and singers who have performed in past concerts have extensive entertainment backgrounds, including lead roles in award-winning hit broadway musicals, national and international commercials, audio book narration, television & film productions, international music tours, NYC Fashion Week, and publishing. Because Book of Ruth members have extensive musical careers, members have rotating schedules and may not appear in every single concert. However, The Book of Ruth has a saying, "Once a Book of Ruth member, always a Book of Ruth member."  Our business culture affords our singers the flexibility to maximize their professional accomplishments, without jeopardizing their standing with the Book of Ruth and their ability to share their talents with Book of Ruth patrons. We are a family, and no matter how far our members may travel, The Book of Ruth will always be their home!
